Q: Will there be other beginners in the class besides me?
Yes! There are always members in the class who are just starting out. We also have a good amount of members who’ve been with us for quite some time who really enjoy helping those who are new to the program. It really is a team effort.
Q: How many days should I come to get the best results?
I would shoot for 3 or 4 days per week. The most important thing is that you stay consistent with those days and follow the nutrition plan we give you and you will be sure to see incredible results.
Q: How much weight can I expect to lose?
That depends on a lot of factors…too many to discuss without knowing anything about you. What I can tell you is that the people in our program who are experiencing the best results are those who are consistently coming to class and following the nutrition plan we prescribed them. If you do the things we advise you to do you will see incredible changes to your body.
Q: Will I get bulky muscles participating in these workouts?
The idea of “lean muscle” vs “bulky muscle” is a myth. Muscle is muscle, so why does one person who lifts weights look lean and tone, while another person looks bulky? The reason is simply because one person has more body fat than the other person and that’s it. If you work out with weights and don’t diet properly you will look “bulky.” However, if you work out with weights and eat properly you will look lean and toned. Building a great body involves two things; 1.) adding muscle, and 2.) reducing body fat, and that’s it.
Q: What days and times can I work out?
You can come as often as you’d like. Take a look at the schedule and see what days and times work best for you.
Q: Can you help me with my diet/nutrition?

Q: Is this workout like a cardio kickboxing class?
No. For starters, just about all cardio kickboxing classes are taught by someone with no real kickboxing experience. They are usually people who have received some weekend certification somewhere. Also, during the class you will be punching and kicking the air, which is lame and boring. At our academy you will learn real Kickboxing techniques from a professional and be guided through a workout done on a heavy bag. You will learn how to throw proper punches and kicks as you destress, have fun and burn a ton of calories.
Q: Is this program anything like ilovekickboxing?
There are some similarities, but there’s really no comparison. Let me give you a few main reasons why…
First, our instructors are experts in the field of exercise physiology. They are true professionals in the field of exercise and have the knowledge to deliver you the most powerful results imaginable in the shortest time possible. Second, our instructors are real Martial Artists with an extensive background in boxing and kickboxing. It’s important that you learn proper technique so you can avoid injury and get the most out of your workout. Third, you won’t perform any resistance training at ILKB (aside from using your own body weight). If you want to change the way your body looks you need to be doing some form of resistance training with weights. If your muscles are challenged they simply won’t change. Q: What does a typical class consist of?
Our classes are split up into 4 parts. The first part consists of a light warmup that lasts approximately 5-7 minutes. Following the warmup is the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). This is the time of class you’ll perform your kickboxing rounds on the stand alone bags. This portion of class lasts roughly 20 minutes. After the rounds of kickboxing you’ll move on to approximately 25 minutes of resistance training. We incorporate many different training modalities during this time to keep things fun, interesting and effective. You’ll use dumbbells, resistance bands, medballs, battle ropes, TRX’s, etc. Lastly, you’ll perform a cool down and stretch to end the class. After that, you’re done
Q: How many people are in a typical class?
It really depends on the day and time, but usually between 10-20 people.
Q: Do I have to be in shape before I start your program?
No, that’s just another reason implanted in your mind not to get started. It’s our job to get you in shape. If you wait until you “get in shape” you’ll likely never feel you’re at the point where you can begin. Do yourself a favor and just start.
